Our Association

Awarded 1st Place Education Program by Texas MG Association

Our Master Gardener program is an educational and volunteer program affiliated with the Brazos County office of the Texas AgriLife Extension Service.

Members of the Brazos County Master Gardeners Association are residents of the local community who strive to promote sound horticultural practices for this region of Texas. Members receive comprehensive training and then share their horticultural expertise through a wide variety of projects and programs benefiting Brazos county citizens and organizations.

In 2010, Brazos County Master Gardeners reported over 5700 hours of service to the community. These hours were contributed in a wide variety of Extension educational projects, providing Earth-Kind research-based information to clients. Some were given while tending community and demonstration gardens. Other service hours were spent presenting talks to civic groups, hosting exhibits and educational programs and in working with youth gardening efforts. Many hours were spent answering questions for the public and offering solutions to gardening problems.
