Learning at the Library Series – “Creating a Backyard Habitat”

December 15 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Molly Harris, a Brazos County Master Gardener and a former Texas Master Naturalist, has property that has been certified by the National Wildlife Federation as a Wildlife Habitat, by the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department as both Texas Wildscapes as well as Best of Texas Wildlife Habitats, and by Project MonarchWatch as a Monarch Waystation.

Join Molly as she shares the learning process she experienced in creating her wildlife habitat. Learn the native and adapted plants: the herbs, flowers, groundcovers, vines, shrubs, and trees that not only attract wildlife, but also do well in the Brazos Valley while providing color in the garden too. Become aware of the requirements of the National Wildlife Federation and the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department so that you can have your own property, from a small apartment balcony to a large acreage, certified as a wildlife habitat.
